Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary loan is a cooperative service that allows libraries to borrow and lend books and other materials to one another. It is available not only through university libraries but also through many public and other participating libraries.
Important for distance learning students:
Instead of using the RPTU University Library's interlibrary loan service, please place your requests through your local library. Any books or copies you order will be delivered to that local library for collection.
Finding a Participating Library
To find libraries in your area that participate in German interlibrary loan, use this Library Directory (Sigelverzeichnis). Select the “Libraries” option and enter your town or city in the search field. The results will show participating libraries in your area.
Open a library's entry to view its contact information and check whether it offers interlibrary loan.
If you would still like to use the RPTU University Library's interlibrary loan service, you must first register to use the library at one of its locations in Kaiserslautern or Landau. Please note that any interlibrary loan requests you place will be delivered only to the location where you are registered and must be collected there in person. Home delivery is not available.
For more information about the process and applicable conditions, please see the information provided here.
