Welcome to Katalog+
Click on the magnifying glass in the search field to select a search area from the pull-down menu:
Library holdings (without articles)
Here you can find all printed and electronic resources of the university library, e.g. books, e-books, journals, e-journals, CDs, DVDs, psychological tests, maps and games.
Digital media
Here you can narrow your search to the university library‘s electronic holdings (e-books, e-journals, databases). A prerequisite for accessing the full text is your device being connected with the RPTU‘s network. Remote access via VPN connection is possible for almost all e-media.
Articles
With the support of an index you can search several databases for scientific articles in e-journals and chapters in e-books as well as conference proceedings which are available in full text at the RPTU. The slider "Expand my results" allows you to extend the number of results to titles which are not accessible at the RPTU. You can order these titles via interlibrary loan. For this reason, the links to „DigiBib“ in Kaiserslautern or Landau appear in every full record. These records are labelled "no online access".
"UB Kaiserslautern" / "UB Landau"
The search area limits the search to the printed and electronic holdings of the RPTU in Kaiserslautern or Landau.

Login is only possible if you already have a library account. Prior registration is required. You can register your library account on site or online via our website.

The licensed e-media of the university library is fully accessible within the university‘s network of Kaiserslautern or Landau without registration. In order to use electronic media off-campus, VPN set up is required (in Kaiserslautern, please do select the VPN configuration "Full Tunnel").
Search tips
- Search terms are not case-sensitive.
- Umlauts may have to be resolved.
ä, ö, ü -> ae, oe, ue - Several search terms can be combined with AND, OR and NOT (Boolean operators). These operators must be must be in upper case to be seen as operators rather than search terms. If nothing else is specified, your search terms are automatically linked with AND.
internet AND study - If you want to search for a specific sequence of words (phrase search), you must place your search words in inverted commas.
„climate change“ - Use search terms in German and in English, as much of the literature is written and evaluated in English. Searching for words in both languages increases the number of results.
pandemie OR pandemic - When using the wildcard * (truncation) at the end of a search word, search results are displayed which begin with this sequence of letters but have other characters (word stem search).
pollut* finds pollute, pollutants, pollution...
The advanced search offers the possibility of carrying out complex searches in Katalog+. The following search filters can be selected in advance to reduce the number of results:
- „Any field“means that your search is conducted in all data fields, such as title, author, ISBN, year of publication, etc.
- Title
- Author/Contributor
- Subject heading
- ISBN/ISSN
- Series
- Holding call number
- Material type
- Language
- Start and end date
Optimise your search results in the hit list in the section "Tweak your results". The hit list is automatically sorted by relevance. You can sort your list by further criteria. The various filter options (facets) can also be combined with each other.
You can transfer the hit list or individual records to your mobile phone via QR code or save them in „My Favourites“ using the pin after selecting individual records. In addition, you can export both individual titles and a selected number of records using the three points of the list or the individual title ("Print", "Export BibTeX" or "Export RIS" or "Email").
